Outline

Over the years, the Yokohama Museum of Art, Aichi Prefectural Museum of Art, and Toyama Prefectural Museum of Art and Design, three publiec facilities that represent their respective area, have built up substantial collections. What the museums share is that 20th-century Western art is a pillar of their acquisition policy. This exhibition, made up of approximately 120 specially selected works by masters such as Picasso, Miró, Klee, Ernst, Dalí, Magritte, Pollock, Warhol, and Richter, is titled Trialogue. By concentrating on the story of 20th century Western art told in each museum, the exhibition weaves together a new story as the works reverberate and complement each in a kind of conversation.
